Position Overview: Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Full-Time Cook to prepare meals and snacks for residential, day students, and on-duty staff. Pay: Minimum of $20.00+/hour (DOE)

What You’ll Do:

By joining our team, you will make a difference every day—creating positive change for individuals, families, and communities. Each smile, hug, and heart you touch will reflect the meaningful impact of your work.

  • Fulfill menu requirements and serve meals.
  • Wash pots and pans, trays, dishes, etc.
  • Take out kitchen trash to outside trash bins.
  • Cover, label and date all suitable leftovers for storage.
  • Take and record food temperatures at mealtime.
  • Maintain personal cleanliness, as well as cleanliness of the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Take and record refrigerator, freezer and dishwashing machine temperatures.
  • Attend team meetings as required.
  • Participate in required in-service training.

Requirements

Required

  • High school degree or GED required.

Preferred

  • Some experience in quantity food production preferred.
