Your Responsibilities

As a Business Development Manager for Sentera Field Operations you will drive growth within large, complex agricultural organizations. This role will be responsible for building, developing, maintaining enterprise pipeline opportunities thought initial engagement, contract negotiations, and relationship management. The ideal candidate combines strong prospecting skills, consultative selling capabilities, and enterprise account strategy experience. This role plays a critical part in expanding Sentera’s footprint by engaging key stakeholders, developing business cases, and positioning solutions that align with customer priorities.

The preferred location for this role is onsite in Saint Paul, MN. Candidates located in midwest areas may be considered at the hiring manager's discretion. 100% remote work arrangement may also be considered.

Enterprise Pipeline Development & Ownership

  • Build, manage, and grow a robust enterprise sales pipeline aligned with strategic growth targets
  • Identify and prioritize high-value accounts across agribusiness, retail, co-ops, and enterprise farming organizations
  • Drive opportunities from early engagement through pipeline stages to deal closing, including contract negotiations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date pipeline data in CRM (e.g., Zoho CRM)
  • Track and report on key pipeline and opportunity metrics

Prospecting and Consultative Discovery & Opportunity Development

  • Execute account-based prospecting strategies targeting key decision-makers and influencers
  • Lead discovery conversations to uncover business challenges, operational needs, and growth opportunities
  • Translate customer pain points into clear value propositions and use cases
  • Advance opportunities beyond initial qualification into well-defined, strategically aligned engagements

Your Responsibilties

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams
  • Contribute to account strategy development and go-to-market initiatives
  • Provide insights on customer needs, competitive trends, and market opportunities

What Skills You Need

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, or strategic account roles
  • Experience in agriculture, agtech, SaaS, sensing, or data/analytics solutions
  • Proven success in enterprise prospecting and deal closing
  • Strong communication, discovery, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working with CRM systems and sales engagement tools
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Education
