Job Summary:
The Cart Delivery Driver is responsible for the delivery, removal, and exchange of waste and recycling carts to residential and commercial customers. This is a non-CDL position requiring safe operation of light- to medium-duty vehicles while providing excellent customer service and maintaining accurate service records.

Operations Manager/Operations Supervisor
Essential Job Duties:
- Deliver, exchange, and retrieve waste and recycling carts at customer locations.
- Operate non-CDL box trucks or pickup trucks with trailers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Verify delivery information and communicate with customers when necessary.
- Load and unload carts using appropriate lifting and securing techniques.
- Complete assigned route and document all deliveries and pick-ups accurately.
- Inspect carts for cleanliness and functionality; perform minor repairs as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the delivery vehicle.
- Follow all safety procedures, comply with company policies, and traffic laws.
- Report service or customer issues to supervisor or dispatch promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibility:
The Cart Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering, exchanging, and retrieving waste and recycling carts for residential and commercial customers within assigned service areas. This role operates non-CDL vehicles and trailers, completes route assignments, maintains accurate delivery documentation, and ensures carts and equipment are in proper working condition. The position regularly interacts with customers and internal teams while adhering to company safety standards, operational procedures, and service expectations.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL not required.
- Ability to safely operate light- to medium-duty trucks and trailers.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use mobile devices or tablets to track deliveries and log data.
- Basic mechanical skills to identify and address minor cart issues.
- Basic familiarity with mobile devices such as tablets or route tracking apps.
- Ability to enter service notes and complete route information electronically.
- Comfort using handheld scanners, GPS applications, and other digital tools as required by operations.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of delivery, route driving, or customer service experience preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Must be able to safely navigate tight spaces, driveways, and residential streets.
- Regularly lift and carry heavy loads, often up to 75 pounds or more.
- Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching to collect garbage.
- Long hours of driving, often in congested or hazardous conditions.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- High noise levels from trucks and machinery.
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials and unpleasant odors.
- May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.
Travel Required:
- Travel is limited to daily routes within assigned service areas.
