Position: Mobile Equipment Mechanic

Reports To : Mobile Maintenance Supervisor

Shift : Varies

Pay: $40.52

Summary:

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs repairs and other maintenance needed on mobile equipment.

What you’ll be contributing:

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Repairs, maintaines, and services mobile equipment and stationary combustion engines at the plant.
• Performs clean- up duties in the maintenance shop.
• Maintains proper documentation and records of repairs, maintenance and servies performed.
• Observes all safety rules and regulations- continuous.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

• High school graduation or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and understand service manuals, warning labels, instructions, signs and similar information. Significant knowledge of diesel and gas engines, transmission systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair the mobile equipment
• Ability and skill in performing welding and fabrication
• Must have or obtain an air conditioner certificate, a valid Class 1 or Class 2 State of Montana commercial driver's license, Hazmat Endorsement, Tankers Endorsement, and submit to D.O.T. random drug testing.
• Ability to safely and effectively operate cranes, overhead hoist, hand tools, precision instruments, shop tools, jacks, chain hoist, air wrenches, and related equipment.

What to expect in a cement environment:

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
