Safety Specialist

Shamrock Business Consulting is recruiting a Construction Safety Manager for our client, a commercial general contractor building projects across Indianapolis and southern Indiana. This is a direct-hire role. You'll be on active jobsites, not behind a desk.

What you'll do

You'll own safety on the ground. That means audits, training, stand-downs, incident investigations, and keeping the trade partners honest. You'll also teach the crews and subs how to use the safety and QC tools the client runs on every job, including Predictive Solutions and Procore, and you'll help track quality control observations alongside safety data.

• Run new-hire safety orientation covering the company program, site expectations, and the owner's safety requirements
• Onboard and support trade partners so the safety program is actually followed, not just posted
• Build and deliver training on health, safety, and environmental topics that keeps sites compliant and crews sharp
• Work daily with Project Managers and Superintendents to keep sites clean, secure, and hazard-free under company policy and OSHA
• Conduct scheduled and random site inspections, report findings, and audit compliance on a routine basis
• Lead safety stand-downs and push safety improvements across the project
• Help supervisors investigate and document every incident, accident, and injury, and keep the paper trail tight
• Maintain site plans for emergency evacuation, fire response, traffic control, and similar
• Communicate hazards, precautions, and corrective actions across the site as they come up
• Build working relationships on site with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Coach field staff on health and safety questions and advise the project on how to get better
• Keep safety records current and in order per regulatory requirements
• Stay current on safety law, regulation, and industry trends
• Distribute safety materials, supplies, and PPE

What you bring

• 5+ years of construction or industrial safety supervisory experience
• OSHA 30 (required)
• CHST preferred
• First Aid / CPR preferred
• Degree in Health & Safety, construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Procore, and Predictive Solutions
• Can read construction drawings and floor plans
• Understand subcontractor coordination and construction sequencing
• Strong, assertive communicator, written and verbal
• Team player with a client-service mindset
• Able to pass a client-required background check
• Valid driver's license and willing to travel throughout Indiana

Location

Jobsites throughout Indianapolis and southern Indiana. Travel within the state is part of the job.
