The Global Real Estate & Workplace Experience (GREWE) team, part of Enterprise Shared Services (ESS), manages the company’s global real estate portfolio and workplace operations. Its work spans strategic planning, acquisitions, leasing, design, construction, maintenance, and the delivery of workplace experiences that support American Express colleagues worldwide.
Within Global Real Estate & Workplace Experience (GREWE), is the Global Workplace Experience Strategy team which defines how colleagues experience the workplace. By combining research, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration, the team develops forward-looking strategies, aligns stakeholders around a shared vision, and turns ideas into actionable plans that support business priorities.
How will you make an impact in this role?
As a Graduate Workplace Experience Communication & Strategy Intern within Global Workplace Experience Strategy team you will help translate complex workplace strategies and employee experience concepts into clear, engaging communications for leaders and cross-functional partners.
Working with strategists and stakeholders, you will develop executive presentations, strategic narratives, playbooks, and engagement materials that communicate the team’s vision, strengthen alignment, and support the implementation of key initiatives. You will also help improve communication processes, stakeholder engagement, and change-management activities that build awareness and encourage adoption across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Focus will be on developing strategic communications and organizational enablement materials that help socialize workplace strategy initiatives, communicate complex ideas clearly, and strengthen engagement across GREWE and enterprise partners, including:
- Supporting the development of executive presentations, strategic narratives, playbooks, toolkits, and communication materials that showcase Global Workplace Experience Strategy initiatives.
- Translating complex strategy, research, and workplace experience concepts into compelling, digestible content tailored for executive leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Partnering with team leaders to develop executive storytelling that clearly communicates strategic vision, key decisions, and business value for senior leadership audiences.
- Contributing to the team's communication strategy by developing repeatable communications, stakeholder engagement processes, and change management cadences that improve how strategic work is shared across the organization.
- Supporting internal communications and organizational change initiatives that build awareness, understanding, and adoption of workplace strategies.
- Assisting with meeting facilitation, workshop preparation, executive briefings, and follow-up materials that enable productive collaboration across partner teams.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders across GREWE and other enterprise functions to support successful execution of strategic initiatives.
- Organizing and maintaining communication assets, presentation libraries, and knowledge management resources.
- Conducting research on workplace trends, organizational communications, employee experience, and industry best practices to help inform future strategies and communications.
- Supporting multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously while demonstrating strong attention to detail, organization, and sound judgment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in full-time graduate’s degree program
- Graduate degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
- 3 plus years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree program in Communications, Corporate Communications, Marketing, Organizational Psychology, Public Relations, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for executive and cross-functional audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear, engaging, and visually compelling communications.
- Strong storytelling, presentation development, and content creation skills.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and strong project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively across diverse teams.
- Ability to influence others with a collaborative, inclusive, and engaging style while supporting evolving business needs.
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn while contributing to strategic initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and the Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with visual communication or collaboration tools is a plus.
- Interest in workplace strategy, employee experience, organizational effectiveness, internal communications, or change management is preferred.
