Schedule: 2nd Shift; overtime and Saturdays as needed
Pay: Starting at $32/hour + $3/hour second-shift differential; higher starting rates may be available based on experience.
Must have structural steel fabrication industry experience and prior foreman, supervisory, or leadership experience.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fabrication Foreman to lead second-shift shop operations. This hands-on leadership role oversees employees, production activities, equipment, materials, scheduling, quality, and deliveries while keeping work on schedule and aligned with company standards.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, communicates well across teams, and can make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, and support shop employees throughout the second shift.
- Oversee daily fabrication activities, personnel, equipment, tools, and materials.
- Maintain production and fabrication schedules and adjust priorities as needed.
- Coordinate deliveries and help ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Establish and maintain standard fabrication procedures.
- Monitor workmanship and quality control to ensure products meet requirements and delivery commitments.
- Review production processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, employee performance, and quality.
- Coordinate with project management, logistics, purchasing, other departments, and fabrication facilities regarding schedules, product status, quality, and deliveries.
- Maintain appropriate equipment, inventory, and building conditions.
- Work with vendors and suppliers as needed.
- Balance shop workload and communicate operational needs to management.
- Coordinate staffing and work hours when necessary to meet delivery schedules.
- Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Make operational decisions that support company goals.
- Maintain strong working relationships with employees and internal teams.
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience in the structural steel fabrication industry.
- Previous foreman, supervisor, or leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication operations.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work 2nd shift, with overtime and Saturdays as required.
