Children's Activities Coordinator

Job Details: Job Location: Lucys Hearth - Middletown, RI 02842, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: Not Specified, Salary Range: $20.00 - $24.87 Hourly, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Job Shift: Any, FSRI is always looking for candidates that want to make a positive impact on the community!

Position Summary: To plan, coordinate, and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities and programming for children, adolescents, and families living at Lucy’s Hearth. Build positive, trusting relationships with children and families while creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment throughout their shelter experience. Provide a variety of recreational, educational, creative, social-emotional, and community-based activities that encourage healthy development, connection, learning, and positive family experiences. Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to identify and provide opportunities that meet the interests and needs of children and families.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Services, Recreation, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience working with children and families and planning age-appropriate activities preferred.
Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse cultural, racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow agency policies and safety requirements.
Flexible schedule required, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and adjusted hours for planned activities, events, outings, or guests.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, current insurance, registration, inspection, and acceptable driving record required.
Ability to safely supervise children of varying ages and developmental levels.
Successful completion of required background checks and agency screening.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to:

Travel to community locations and other FSRI sites as needed, including navigating walkways, stairs, and elevators.
Lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
Safely participate in and supervise children during a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
