Position Summary
The Skin & Spa Specialist is responsible for driving growth and strengthening Aveda's professional skin, body, spa, aroma, and lifestyle business by delivering exceptional education experiences that inspire, develop, and elevate salon and spa professionals. This role partners closely with Education, Salon Development Partners, Sales leaders, and Aveda Institutes to build technical expertise, increase confidence in service delivery, and support retail and service growth across the region.
Through engaging hands-on education, coaching, and business partnership, the Skin & Spa Specialist helps ensure consistent execution of Aveda's service philosophy, professional protocols, and mission while creating meaningful experiences that deepen brand connection for salon owners, service providers, students, and future professionals.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Education Delivery & Technical Excellence
- Deliver engaging, technically accurate education on Aveda skin care, body care, spa, aroma, and lifestyle products and services to salon and spa owners, estheticians, massage therapists, artists, educators, Aveda Advisors, Institute staff, and students.
- Facilitate impactful in-person and virtual education programs that inspire confidence, strengthen technical capabilities, and support commercial objectives.
- Provide technical orientation and onboarding education for new Aveda salons and spas.
- Deliver hands-on demonstrations, coaching, and personalized development to improve treatment performance, consultation skills, service excellence, and retail recommendations.
- Support new product launches through technical education, service demonstrations, and launch activation programs.
- Maintain expertise in Aveda products, treatment protocols, techniques, and emerging industry trends, incorporating best practices into education experiences.
- Deliver an exceptional education experience that reflects Aveda's standards for service, professionalism, and guest care.
Commercial Growth & Business Development
- Drive sales growth by partnering with Salon Development Partners, Sales, and Education teams to identify opportunities for new business acquisition, expansion within existing accounts, and increased market penetration.
- Support the conversion of salons and spas from competitive professional skin, body, and wellness brands by demonstrating the value of Aveda's products, services, and education programs.
- Partner with existing Aveda salons and spas to increase category penetration, expand service offerings, improve retail performance, and grow comparable sales across skin, body, aroma, and lifestyle categories.
- Identify opportunities to increase product adoption and service utilization through education, coaching, consultation best practices, and business planning.
- Support the successful launch and adoption of new products, services, and promotional initiatives to accelerate sales growth and client engagement.
- Collaborate with salon and spa owners to develop action plans that improve guest retention, service frequency, average ticket, and retail conversion.
- Monitor business performance and education outcomes, providing recommendations and follow-up strategies that drive measurable business results.
- Serve as a strategic partner to internal teams by sharing market insights, competitive activity, consumer trends, and customer feedback that inform future education and commercial initiatives.
Key Roles & Responsibilities (Continued)
Business Partnership & Growth
- Partner with Education, Salon Development Partners, and Sales teams to develop and execute education strategies that drive skin and body care business growth throughout the region.
- Collaborate with salon and spa owners to strengthen technical capabilities, increase service utilization, improve retail performance, and elevate the overall guest experience.
- Build trusted relationships with salons, spas, educators, and internal partners to identify opportunities for continued growth and development.
- Document education activities, outcomes, and recommended next steps using CRM tools to support follow-up and ongoing business planning.
Talent Development
- Support the training, coaching, and ongoing development of Purefessionals, Ambassadors, and locally based freelance educators to ensure consistent delivery of Aveda education.
- Partner with Aveda Institutes to educate, mentor, and inspire future professionals, preparing students for successful careers while strengthening their connection to the Aveda brand.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by providing individualized coaching and encouraging technical excellence across all audiences.
Brand Representation
- Represent Aveda at regional events, education summits, trade shows, and industry functions, demonstrating technical expertise and reinforcing the brand's mission and values.
- Serve as a passionate ambassador for Aveda's mission, sustainability commitments, and holistic approach to beauty and wellness in every interaction.
- Attend regional meetings, company trainings, and other business events as required.

Pay Range:
Anticipated Base Salary Range $71,040.00 to $106,560.00 (Depending on qualifications, skills, experience and/or budget), based on a 40 hour work week (range to be scaled accordingly). In addition, the Company maintains highly competitive incentive compensation programs (role eligibility may vary based on terms of the respective plan(s)).
