Occupational Therapist - Rehab Main Campus

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Occupational Therapist. Under the supervision of the department leader or designee performs designated routine tasks related to the operation of an Occupational Therapy Service. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing and administering of occupational therapy treatment as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (COTA's, rehabilitation techs, etc.) The staff therapist participates in operational aspects of the department: maintains performance improvement activities within the department, participates in CQI activities, assists with monitoring budget guidelines, ensures that patient charges are accurate and completed in a timely manner and participates in infection control, departmental equipment training , organizational safety and fire safety programs.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Graduate of a School of Occupational Therapy or equivalent, which is approved by the American Board of Occupational Therapy Education. Successful completion of National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy examination. Current state of West Virginia license or Temporary license, current BLS card.

EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred but not required.

SKILLS: A thorough knowledge of the field of occupational therapy. Ability to work in co-operation with physicians, OTR/L, other hospital personnel and patients. To be proficient to the fullest extent in all Occupational Therapy service provision. Should have initiative and good judgement.
