Sr. Staff Accountant

The Sr. Staff Accountant is responsible for providing flexible, project-based support to the Controller and Finance organization. This individual will assist with various accounting, financial reporting, process improvement, systems, and special projects based on business priorities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly understand existing processes, work independently, and deliver accurate, practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report directly to the Controller and collaborate with Finance and cross-functional business partners on accounting projects, financial analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and process documentation.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including analysis of general ledger activity, account balances, transactions, revenue, accruals, prepaids, and other accounting matters.
  • Prepare account reconciliations, supporting schedules, management reports, and audit documentation.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for automation or standardization; document current- and future-state processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support ERP system implementations, enhancements, migrations, data conversions, reporting initiatives, system testing, data validation, user acceptance testing, and issue resolution. Experience with SAP, Oracle, Baan, or similar ERP platforms preferred.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and project support as directed by the Controller and Finance leadership team.
  • User Acceptance Testing and other projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is required
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting concepts
  • Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, financial analysis, and month-end close.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and large data sets.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with limited supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments.
