Project Specialist (Data Center)

We are seeking a Security Systems Technician to support the installation, programming, testing, start-up, certification, and customer training of security and low-voltage systems. This role involves working on projects ranging from small-scale installations to complex enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with customers, and contributing to a growing team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, and commission security, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform system start-up, testing, and certification to ensure projects meet customer and industry standards.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to complete installations accurately.
• Train customers on system operation and provide exceptional service throughout project completion.
• Travel to customer sites as needed and support projects of varying size and complexity.

Qualifications

• Experience with security systems, fire alarm systems, low-voltage installation, or related construction environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with system programming, testing, and commissioning.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel locally with occasional overnight travel.

Preferred

• Experience in construction, security systems installation, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, or low-voltage technologies.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Experience Level: Intermediate (2+ years preferred)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Urbandale, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
