Primary Functions of the Field Mechanic:

The Shop Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing and repairing heavy construction equipment in the field and in the shop.

Main Responsibilities and Qualifications of the Shop Mechanic:

• Able to follow company safety rules and regulations

• Minimum of 2 years prior experience

• Must have valid Driver’s License and Medical Card

• Must operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe manner

• Must provide own hand tools

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair company equipment

• Order parts and supplies as needed for repairs to be performed

• Maintain accurate records of time, parts, and materials

• Ability to lift 75+ lbs. and climb onto equipment (3–4 ft)

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

• Ability to work in varied weather and shop conditions

• Notify management of any company equipment or vehicles that are not serviceable
