Campus President

Position Summary

The Campus President provides executive leadership, operational oversight, and day-to-day management of campus functions in alignment with the vision, mission, values, and strategic direction of Denver College of Nursing. Reporting to the College President, the Campus President serves as the senior campus leader responsible for translating institutional strategy into operational excellence, measurable results, and a high-performing campus culture.

The Campus President has overall campus-level responsibility for leadership, execution, and performance across the institution’s core functional areas, including Admissions, campus Financial Services, the Business Office, Academic Support, and operational partnership with academic and nursing leadership. This role ensures these areas work in close coordination to support student success, enrollment growth, financial health, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional student experience.

The Campus President is accountable for achievement of the annual operating plan and for key campus outcomes including NCLEX first-time pass rates, completion and graduation outcomes, retention and persistence, student satisfaction, employee satisfaction and engagement, enrollment performance, new student start readiness, compliance performance, and overall campus operational and financial health, working in close collaboration with centralized dean roles and other institutional partners to achieve campus success. This leader must be visible, engaged, highly collaborative, solutions-oriented, and relentlessly focused on execution, follow-through, and continuous improvement.

Executive Leadership and Campus Oversight

  • Provides direct day-to-day leadership and oversight of campus operations and student-facing administrative functions, ensuring strong execution, responsiveness, accountability, and alignment across departments.
  • Serves as the senior campus executive responsible for the effective management, coordination, and performance of key areas including Admissions, campus Financial Services, Business Office operations, Academic Support, and operational partnership with nursing and academic leadership.
  • Leads campus operations in a manner that supports student-focused outcomes, operational excellence, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and a positive organizational culture.
  • Translates institutional priorities, strategic goals, and direction from the College President into clear campus-level action plans, expectations, and measurable outcomes.
  • Builds and sustains an effective campus leadership structure that promotes collaboration, problem-solving, timely decision-making, and shared accountability.
  • Ensures leaders are actively managing their departments, monitoring performance, addressing issues promptly, and escalating significant concerns appropriately.

Leadership of Core Campus Performance Outcomes

  • Holds primary campus-level accountability for achievement of the annual operating plan and for key institutional and operational outcomes including NCLEX first-time pass rates, completion, graduation, and persistence/retention outcomes, student satisfaction and student experience, employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention, enrollment performance and new student start success, readiness of each quarterly start and successful student onboarding, regulatory, accreditation, and compliance performance, and financial health, operational efficiency, and stewardship of campus resources.
  • Achieves campus success through close collaboration with centralized dean roles and other institutional partners, ensuring strong alignment, shared accountability, and coordinated execution in support of student outcomes, operational excellence, and institutional goals.
  • Uses data, scorecards, trends, and operational indicators to drive accountability, assess campus health, identify barriers, and implement timely improvement strategies.
  • Ensures campus leaders understand the outcomes for which they are responsible and are actively managing toward clearly defined goals.

Operational Supervision and Partnership with the Chief Nursing Administrator

  • Serves as the senior campus leader and direct supervisor of the Chief Nursing Administrator, providing executive leadership, institutional oversight, performance accountability, and operational support for the campus academic and nursing environment.
  • Supervises the Chief Nursing Administrator in a manner that supports both institutional accountability and compliance with applicable nursing education regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures the Chief Nursing Administrator has the institutional support, resources, staffing collaboration, administrative partnership, and cross-functional coordination necessary to successfully administer, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing education program in accordance with regulatory and institutional expectations.
  • Maintains ultimate campus-level responsibility for leadership, operational execution, and institutional results, while recognizing and supporting the Chief Nursing Administrator’s designated authority and accountability for nursing education program administration under applicable requirements.
  • Partners closely with the Chief Nursing Administrator to remove barriers, align resources, support faculty and operational execution, and strengthen the infrastructure necessary to achieve student success, completion, compliance, and licensure outcomes.
  • Ensures the nursing program’s organizational structure and operational support reflect clear lines of authority, responsibility, communication, and institutional partnership consistent with governing and regulatory expectations.

Academic Support

  • Oversees campus academic support functions designed to promote student persistence, progression, completion, and overall success.
  • Ensures that tutoring, coaching, advising, intervention, and student support systems are operationally effective, appropriately coordinated, and responsive to student needs.
  • Monitors student support trends and collaborates with campus leaders to address barriers to retention, persistence, completion, and student achievement.
  • Promotes a culture in which academic support is proactive, student-centered, and integrated throughout the student lifecycle.

Admissions

  • Provides leadership and oversight of the admissions function to ensure the campus maintains ethical, effective, and student-centered enrollment practices.
  • Holds admissions leadership accountable for inquiry management, applicant conversion, enrollment readiness, start preparation, and achievement of enrollment goals.
  • Ensures admissions operations are aligned with institutional growth priorities while maintaining compliance, professionalism, and high service standards.
  • Works closely with admissions leadership to identify pipeline opportunities, remove operational obstacles, improve handoffs, and strengthen collaboration with financial services and student-facing departments.
  • Monitors admissions performance and supports continuous improvement in processes, communication, and conversion effectiveness, with particular focus on readiness for each quarterly new student start.

Campus Financial Services

  • Oversees campus Financial Services operations to help ensure students receive accurate, timely, compliant, and service-oriented financial support throughout the enrollment and student lifecycle.
  • Works closely with the Dean of Financial Services and relevant leaders to promote operational effectiveness in areas such as financial aid processes, student financing communication, payment planning, student preparedness, and service delivery for the Denver campus.
  • Supports a student-centered approach that balances compliance, service, financial literacy, and institutional stewardship.
  • Monitors key performance indicators, service levels, and operational challenges within Denver campus Financial Services and ensures timely resolution of issues that impact students or campus performance.
  • Promotes effective collaboration between Financial Services, Admissions, Academic Support, Student Administration, and the Business Office to reduce student friction and support persistence and successful starts.

Business Office

  • Provides leadership and oversight of Business Office operations, ensuring sound fiscal management, strong internal controls, and excellent service to students and campus stakeholders.
  • Oversees day-to-day business operations related to student accounts, campus financial processes, and administrative support functions as assigned.
  • Ensures the Business Office operates with accuracy, professionalism, responsiveness, and strong stewardship of institutional resources.
  • Monitors operational workflows, identifies process improvement opportunities, and ensures appropriate follow-through on campus financial and administrative matters.
  • Partners with the College President and relevant shared services teams to support financial discipline, budgeting awareness, and campus operational sustainability.

Campus Leadership Cadence and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Chairs and leads Campus Council, ensuring effective coordination, communication, accountability, and follow-through across the campus’s key functions.
  • Leads a Weekly New Start Readiness Meeting to ensure cross-functional alignment, issue resolution, and operational preparedness for each quarterly start.
  • Leads Weekly Student Success Meetings focused on at-risk students, early intervention, persistence strategies, academic progression, and coordinated action planning across relevant departments.
  • Regularly attends and supports NCLEX Preparedness Meetings focused on capstone students and alumni/graduates, with emphasis on licensure readiness, testing preparedness, coaching interventions, and improvement of first-time NCLEX pass outcomes.
  • Ensures campus leaders are aligned around student preparedness, onboarding, retention, progression, completion, licensure readiness, staffing, scheduling, and compliance requirements.
  • Establishes strong meeting cadences and operational review processes to monitor performance, drive decisions, and support execution across the student lifecycle.
  • Fosters a highly collaborative environment in which departments work together to solve problems, improve the student experience, and achieve institutional goals.

Key Internal Partnerships

  • Partners closely with the Dean of Nursing to support nursing and academic operations, program quality, student progression, licensure outcomes, faculty effectiveness, and campus execution.
  • Partners closely with the Dean of Student Administration, Career, and Alumni to strengthen student support, student engagement, persistence, student experience, career readiness, alumni connection, and overall success across the student lifecycle.
  • Partners closely with the Dean of Financial Services to support strong execution, service, compliance, and student-centered financial operations for the Denver campus.
  • Partners closely with the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Compliance to support institutional compliance, academic quality, assessment, operational improvement, accreditation readiness, and achievement of key academic and institutional outcomes.
  • Maintains strong collaboration across the campus leadership team to ensure coordinated planning, execution, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Strategic Leadership and Institutional Advancement

  • Supports the College President in advancing Denver College of Nursing’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan through strong campus-level execution.
  • Helps drive campus growth and performance by aligning day-to-day operations with strategic priorities related to enrollment, student success, quality, service, and institutional sustainability.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of initiatives that strengthen campus performance, operational effectiveness, and organizational resilience.
  • Serves as a key campus representative with internal and external stakeholders, fostering confidence, credibility, and strong partnerships that benefit the institution.

Financial Management and Operational Execution

  • Collaborates with the College President and shared services partners in the development and execution of annual operating plans, budgets, and performance goals.
  • Holds campus leaders accountable for executing against annual operating plan priorities and achieving defined campus goals and key performance indicators.
  • Helps ensure the campus operates within approved financial parameters while maintaining focus on quality, growth, and service.
  • Monitors campus operations closely to ensure resources are being effectively deployed and operational decisions support institutional priorities.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Leads, coaches, and develops campus leaders to strengthen performance, ownership, collaboration, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Establishes clear expectations for professionalism, communication, execution, and results across all direct and indirect areas of oversight.
  • Builds a culture of accountability in which leaders are expected to identify issues early, develop solutions, collaborate cross-functionally, and follow through on commitments.
  • Promotes a positive, service-oriented, mission-driven culture that reflects the values of Denver College of Nursing.
  • Supports employee engagement and satisfaction by fostering clear communication, leadership visibility, recognition, development, and shared ownership of campus success.

Compliance, Accreditation, and Risk Management

  • Collaborates with the College President and the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Compliance to support compliance with all applicable federal, state, accreditor, and institutional requirements.
  • Supports campus readiness for audits, reviews, accreditation activities, and regulatory processes.
  • Ensures operational leaders understand and uphold policies, procedures, and compliance expectations within their respective functions.
  • Identifies operational risks and escalates concerns appropriately while helping lead timely and effective resolution efforts.

Professional Conduct and Institutional Representation

  • Upholds the highest standards of ethical, professional, and mission-aligned leadership.
  • Protects and enhances the reputation, integrity, and identity of Denver College of Nursing through effective leadership and sound judgment.
  • Represents the institution in a manner that reflects respect, service excellence, integrity, commitment, and student-focused outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Leadership experience in higher education, healthcare education, student services, operations, enrollment management, financial services, business operations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day operations, lead teams, and drive accountability across multiple functional areas.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Progressive leadership experience in higher education, nursing education, proprietary/postsecondary education, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a complex, student-centered environment.
  • Experience with operating plans, performance metrics, budgeting, student outcomes, and institutional compliance.
  • Experience supporting accreditation, regulatory readiness, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Experience working with shared services and centralized support functions preferred.

Supervisory Scope

  • Provides direct supervision and leadership for assigned campus leaders and functions as designated by the College President.
  • Directly supervises the Chief Nursing Administrator and other designated campus leaders consistent with the organizational structure.
  • Provides leadership oversight across key campus functions including Admissions, campus Financial Services, the Business Office, Academic Support, and related student-facing and operational areas.
  • Holds leaders accountable for departmental performance, service standards, team effectiveness, and achievement of campus goals.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of Denver College of Nursing’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.
