Home Equity Processor

About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Home Equity Processors to join a growing lending team. This role is ideal for professionals with mortgage or home equity processing experience who enjoy working directly with members, managing loan files from start to finish, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a pipeline of approximately 25-30 home equity loan files once fully trained
  • Process home equity loans from application through closing
  • Review income documentation, including pay stubs and supporting financial records
  • Order appraisals and flood certifications as needed
  • Gather payoff information and verify mortgagee clauses
  • Prepare complete loan files for underwriting review
  • Coordinate and arrange loan closings
  • Maintain regular communication with members throughout the loan process
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of all loan documentation

Qualifications

Required

  • 1-2+ years of full-cycle mortgage processing or home equity processing experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously while maintaining accuracy
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues and shared goals
  • Comfortable working in a manual processing environment
  • Ability to work onsite in Troy, MI for the duration of the assignment

Preferred

  • Experience in direct or indirect lending
  • Banking or credit union experience
  • Experience with Encompass or Symitar systems

Training & Development

  • Two weeks of side-by-side training
  • Focus on company systems, processes, and procedures
  • Ongoing support from an experienced lending team

Performance Measures

Success in this role will be evaluated through:

  • File management and productivity
  • Accuracy and quality of work
  • Error rates
  • Clear-to-close metrics
  • Service levels provided to members

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite position located in Troy, Michigan. The office features a professional, team-oriented setting with modern workspaces, a cafeteria and break room, and convenient access to banking services located within the building.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Troy, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
