This employee will assist the Director of Budget and Finance and the Finance Manager in fiduciary matters of the Sheriff’s Office relating to all funds administered by that office as may be assigned.
WORK CONDITIONS
Work is in an office setting which requires long periods of sitting. May become stressful due to validity of work and achieving multiple deadlines. May have unexpected change in work hours including hours outside of regular office hours and weekends.

Examples of duties
• Maintain and reconcile records of cumulative training spending, including registration fees, travel expenses, and other training related costs.
• Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding training logistics, registration questions, and accommodation needs.
• Process payments for training related expenses, such as registration fees, travel reimbursements, and vendor invoices, according to agency policy.
• Debit, credit, and total accounts using computer spreadsheets, databases, and specialized accounting software.
• Perform daily bank runs as required.
• Utilize computers and computer systems to input data, manage records, and perform job duties efficiently.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
• Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
• Willing to travel for the purpose of professional development
• Willing to work overtime and nonstandard hours to meet deadlines
• Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is generally sedentary to light and may require exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or GED; Must have a valid, current driver's license; Must be insurable
- Preferred: Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience; Proficient with Microsoft Excel
Supplemental information
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms and other office procedures and terminology.
- Knowledge of arithmetic and algebra.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar, arithmetic and modern office practices and procedures.
