Medical Officer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly capable Medical Officer to work in the Department of Plastics
The role will assist in consultation, pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care of patients within the
hospital. To ensure success, medical officers should exhibit extensive clinical knowledge and
demonstrable experience in a similar role. The medical officer should be interested in developing
experience in Plastic Surgery.

Medical Officer Responsibilities:

  • Contributing clinical expertise to patient care and providing guidance to nursing staff.
  • Ensuring the highest standards in patient care are maintained.
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
  • Ensuring consistent and accurate medical record-keeping practices.
  • Inpatients: Pre op, intra op, post-op op and regular reviews of patients
  • Outpatients: Assists in preparing for clinics, consulting with patients/caregivers
  • Operating Theatre: Assisting in operations and performing procedures under supervision.
  • Mobile clinics: Joins teams on mobile clinics for patient triaging.
  • Continued learning: Keeping informed on advancements in the field and contributing to
  • medical research programs.
  • Administration: Reporting to senior management, as well as liaising between the administrative
  • and medical staff. Performing administrative duties
  • Clinical Governance: Participates in Morbidity and Mortality meetings, Quality Improvement
  • Projects and Audit

Medical Officer Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in medicine.
  2. Successful completion of the internship
  3. Some surgical experience is an advantage
