About Wynn Al Marjan Island:
Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. Set to open in 2027, the resort will be located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. About the Position:
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Carpentry Master – Logistics Center to join the resort’s Logistics Center team.
The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Review fabrication drawings, sketches, work orders and specifications, and confirm dimensions, materials, finishes, hardware, installation requirements and design intent before work commences.
- Lead bespoke fabrication works for custom furniture, cabinetry, built-in units, architectural millwork, display elements, counters, doors, frames, partitions, moldings, trims and specialist timber details.
- Carry out accurate site measurements, prepare cutting lists, calculate material quantities and identify required ironmongery, adhesives, laminates, veneers, fittings, fixings and finishing systems.
- Set out, machine, fabricate, assemble, laminate, bond, edge, sand and finish timber, composite and decorative panel components to the required standard.
- Operate and supervise the safe use of woodworking machinery, including thicknesses, planers, jointers, crosscut saws, miter saws, circular saws, spindle molders, routers, drills and associated hand and power tools.
- Repair, alter, refurbish and install custom cabinetry, bespoke furniture, doors, frames, partitions, moldings, trims, counters, millwork elements and specialist wood finishes.
- Inspect completed fabricated items and installations for dimensional accuracy, alignment, finish quality, durability, safety, functionality, and compliance with the approved requirement.
- Assign tasks to carpenters and labor support, monitor work progress, provide technical direction and ensure all fabrication and installation works are completed safely and correctly.
- Coordinate planned and reactive carpentry works through the CMMS platform, including work order review, prioritization, progress updates, and completion of reporting.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness, tool control, machine guarding, dust extraction standards and safe storage of timber, adhesives, finishes and consumables.
- Support operational repairs, refurbishment works, pre-opening readiness activities and project-related carpentry requirements across the Logistics Centre, Oasis and Resort areas as required.
- Coordinate with Facilities, Engineering, Logistics, Projects, Housekeeping, Operations and other stakeholders to understand priorities, access constraints, operational requirements and required completion dates.
- Work with supervisors and end users to agree on practical repair or fabrication solutions that protect the assets, minimize disruption, and maintain the required visual standard.
- Optimize raw material use through proper set-out, nesting, marking, off-cut control and reuse of suitable materials where appropriate.
- Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors and internal clients on work progress, risks, material requirements and completion status.
- Maintain professional grooming, hygiene and workplace conduct standards when working in guest-facing, back-of-house and staff accommodation areas.
- Support a service-focused culture by responding promptly, taking ownership of assigned work, and contributing constructively to cross-functional operational requirements.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Technical diploma, trade certification or recognized apprenticeship in carpentry, joinery, cabinet making, furniture making, architectural millwork or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in carpentry, joinery, millwork, custom furniture fabrication, cabinetry or refurbishment works, preferably within hospitality, luxury residential, mixed-use development or high-quality commercial environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of bespoke furniture fabrication, cabinetry construction, joinery detailing, timber, veneers, laminates, composite boards, adhesives, ironmongery, finishes, fixing systems and woodworking construction methods.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, technical sketches, layout plans, sections, elevations, shop drawings, and finish specifications.
- Competent in the safe operation, set-up and basic maintenance of woodworking machinery, hand tools and power tools.
- Experience coordinating workshop production, material planning, work sequencing, site measurement, installation support and quality control.
- Familiarity with CMMS platforms, digital work order systems, and basic reporting tools.
- Good leadership, communication, planning, and coordination skills, with the ability to direct teams in a busy operational environment.
- Must be fluent in English. Additional languages are an advantage.
