Process Engineer

Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Process Engineer who is collaborative, practical and improvement-focused to join our Clinical Manufacturing team, based at our UCB site in Braine-L’Alleud, Belgium.

About the role You will help establish, adapt and operate clinical manufacturing processes for biologic and gene therapy products. You will support process implementation, technology transfer, equipment readiness and manufacturing campaigns from early to late clinical development. Your work will strengthen process knowledge, resolve technical challenges and introduce practical improvements while maintaining good manufacturing practice requirements.

Who you’ll work with You will be working in a team that partners closely with manufacturing operations, process development, engineering, qualification, validation and quality assurance. Together, you will support clinical production, industrialisation and technology transfer across a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

What you’ll do

• Implement manufacturing processes and prepare clinical production areas for compliant operations.
• Support manufacturing campaigns on site, including coordination, documentation, data review and troubleshooting.
• Define equipment requirements and support design, introduction, qualification and continuous improvement activities.
• Contribute process expertise to technology transfers and industrialisation with development and commercial teams.
• Investigate process deviations, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Improve equipment, systems, data interfaces and working methods through practical new technologies.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

• Master’s degree in science, engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year of industrial-scale biologics or advanced therapy manufacturing experience.
• Practical knowledge of electronic batch record interfaces, process engineering, scale-up and manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with technology transfer, process optimisation, equipment qualification or validation.
• Knowledge of good manufacturing practice and confidence preparing clear technical documentation.
• Fluency in French and English, with effective collaboration, prioritisation and project coordination skills.
