About the team you are joining

Airlines face growing pressure to improve efficiency while remaining resilient to disruptions. IATA helps airlines enhance performance through data-driven benchmarking, operational assessments, and industry best practices across flight operations, crew productivity, operations control, and disruption management.

We are seeking an experienced professional to support business development and deliver consulting projects that help airlines worldwide improve operational performance, efficiency, and resilience.
Reporting to the Principal, Airline Operations Consulting, you will work alongside a team of highly skilled consultants and subject matter experts from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, this role has a global scope and offers the opportunity to support airlines around the world in addressing complex operational challenges.

What your day would be like

The Senior Manager is expected to:
•Contribute to the development and execution of IATA’s Airline Operations Consulting strategy, including go-to-market initiatives and the expansion of service offerings across operational efficiency, fuel efficiency, integrated operations (IOC/OCC), crew productivity, disruption management, and airline transformation programs.
•Identify and develop commercial opportunities, lead responses to RFPs and proposals, negotiate consulting engagements through contract closure, and support the achievement of revenue and growth objectives.
•Lead and deliver consulting engagements for airlines worldwide, overseeing end-to-end project execution and providing data-driven insights and recommendations to enhance operational performance and business outcomes.
•Collaborate with IATA experts across flight operations, sustainability, data analytics, training, and other domains, as well as external subject matter experts, to design innovative solutions, enhance consulting products, and support the continuous evolution of the consulting portfolio.
•Support and manage research, thought leadership, and the promotion of IATA consulting services through industry events, conferences, publications, and other market-facing activities.
•Contribute to financial planning and performance management activities, including budget preparation, forecasting, project tracking, and reporting on business results and key achievements.

We would love to hear from you if

•Educational Background: Master’s degree in Engineering or Economics.
•Professional Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in flight operations, operations strategy, and/or operational efficiency within the aviation industry, with extensive international / airline exposure.
•Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, ideally with experience in selling / buying solutions to / for airlines. Proven ability to penetrate targeted client accounts and establish deep, long-term relationships with client organizations. Previous experience in Consulting is a strong asset.
•Technical Skills: Proficiency in advanced data analysis and statistical methods.
•Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
•Project Management: Demonstrated excellence in project management.
•Team Collaboration: Effective team player with strong collaborative skills.
