We are opening a position for a Senior AI Lead to support a technology-driven organisation in defining and implementing its artificial intelligence strategy. The role will focus on making AI a tangible business enabler across engineering, product development, certification and support activities, while ensuring that security, compliance, traceability and long-term sustainability remain at the core of AI adoption.
Job Responsibilities
- Define and continuously develop the organisation-wide AI vision, strategy and implementation roadmap in close cooperation with Engineering, Product, IT, Quality and senior management.
- Establish an effective AI governance framework to ensure that AI technologies are adopted responsibly, securely and in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Identify and prioritise AI opportunities across engineering, product development, certification, quality, operations and support, with a focus on measurable business value.
- Monitor and assess emerging technologies, including Large Language Models, agentic systems and enterprise AI platforms, and advise on their potential adoption.
- Define AI architecture principles and solution-selection criteria, while supporting strategic decisions concerning AI platforms, services and tools.
- Drive the integration of AI capabilities into existing engineering environments and toolchains while maintaining traceability, configuration management and appropriate engineering governance.
- Lead pilots, proof-of-concepts and innovation initiatives, assessing their benefits, risks and scalability before supporting broader deployment.
- Promote organisational adoption through training, coaching and awareness initiatives, monitor relevant regulatory developments and provide strategic guidance to management on AI-related matters.
Requirements
- You have at least 10 years of professional experience in software engineering, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, data and AI, or a related discipline.
- You have demonstrated experience leading AI initiatives, digital transformation programmes, innovation portfolios or organisation-wide technology adoption projects.
- You are experienced in developing technology strategies and translating business objectives into clear investment and implementation roadmaps.
- You have a strong understanding of modern AI technologies, including Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic architectures and enterprise AI platforms, as well as their limitations and associated risks.
- You are able to assess competing technologies and make strategic recommendations based on technical, business, operational and architectural considerations.
- You have experience designing enterprise-level architectures involving multiple interconnected platforms and services, combined with a solid understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, privacy, intellectual property and compliance requirements.
- Experience within Air Traffic Management, aerospace, defence, transportation or another safety-critical and highly regulated environment is a strong advantage, as is familiarity with relevant certification and engineering standards.
- You combine strategic thinking, technical expertise, autonomy and strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, challenge constructively and support teams throughout organisational change.
