Chef

We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team at SPAR Newcastle.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality food, maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering a positive experience for customers while working effectively as part of a team.

• Prepare, cook, and present food to a high standard
• Ensure food is prepared and served in accordance with company procedures and food safety regulations
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen
• Monitor stock levels and assist with stock control where required
• Follow HACCP and food safety procedures at all times
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient kitchen operations
• Contribute to a positive and customer-focused environment

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Chef or in a similar kitchen role
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
• Understanding of food safety, HACCP, and health & hygiene standards
• Ability to prepare and present food to a consistently high standard
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• High attention to detail and commitment to food quality
• Reliable, punctual, and professional in approach
• Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours in line with business needs
