The candidate will be responsible for building data monitoring & controls primarily for Risk Decision Engines and Third-party services within Consumer & Community Banking. The candidate will be expected to have a detailed understanding of system requirements, data quality and lineage controls. The candidate is will also be responsible for data monitoring and reporting and supporting post implementation validations during releases for any changes made to decision engines to ensure accuracy of decisioning and support root cause analysis in case of production issues or defects.
A balance of initiative, leadership, influence, and matrixed management skills are important success factors for this role. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently or as part of small project teams. S/he has strong analytical skills, is highly confident and possesses strong communication skills.
This is a critical role and will require both technical and analytical skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Data Quality & Risk Management: Design, validate, and monitor data quality controls and detective controls to mitigate risks arising from decision engine, strategy, and system changes.
- Data Analysis & Validation: Leverage SAS, SQL, Python, and reporting tools to analyze large datasets, perform reconciliations, trend analysis, outlier detection, and post-implementation validations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Issue Resolution: Partner with business, technology, and risk stakeholders to gather requirements, define business rules, investigate production issues, and drive resolution and process improvements.
- Automation & Governance: Lead reporting and monitoring automation initiatives, maintain documentation and lineage controls, and ensure compliance with risk governance, RCSA, and control requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong programming and database skills, including SAS, SQL, Python, and experience with Oracle, Teradata, or similar platforms.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities with expertise in data analysis, data warehousing, and data quality management.
- Hands-on experience with BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, Alteryx, and the Big Data ecosystem.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience working in Agile frameworks, managing time-sensitive deliverables, and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
