The Global Delivery Centre (GDC) in Gurugram is ERM’s global operating backbone. It delivers business enablement services in Finance, HR, IT, and Commercial Operations to ensure ERM’s global business runs seamlessly, efficiently, and consistently.

At the GDC, you will:

  • Be part of a hub that ensures ERM’s business continuity worldwide.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across geographies to support global operations.
  • Drive consistency, compliance, and efficiency in core functions.
  • Work with digital, automation, and AI-enabled tools to optimise how ERM operates.
  • Work in shifts where required, depending on the role. As processes mature and automation increases, reliance on shifts will reduce.

Why this role matters?

As the Global Group Financial Project Billing Lead, you will support ERM's global delivery by leading Project Accounting, Master Data Management, and Billing operations from the Global Delivery Centre (GDC). You will work within the Finance function, partnering with Finance Project Partners (FPPs), project teams, and global stakeholders across regions to ensure accurate project setup, timely billing, and effective financial management. This role is critical to driving operational excellence, improving working capital performance, ensuring billing accuracy, and supporting ERM's financial growth objectives at a global scale.

  • Improve working capital performance by driving timely invoicing, WIP management, and billing resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with ERM policies, financial controls, and project accounting standards.
  • Serve as a trusted escalation point for complex billing and project accounting issues, enabling efficient issue resolution.
  • Build a high-performing delivery team through coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Drive operational efficiency, service quality, and continuous improvement across Project Accounting and Billing processes.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 8-12 years of experience in Project Accounting, Billing, Order-to-Cash, or Finance Operations within a professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting, project lifecycle management, billing processes, and revenue-related controls.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a shared services, global delivery, or finance operations environment.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships across multiple geographies and organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with project accounting, ERP, or billing systems.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, manage escalations, and deliver results within established timelines.

Preferred:

  • CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Experience supporting global consulting, engineering, or professional services organizations.
  • Exposure to global delivery center or shared service operating models.
  • Experience driving process improvement, automation, and operational transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, workflow automation, and finance system optimization projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee Project Accounting, Master Data, and Billing operations delivered through the Global Delivery Centre.
  • Ensure accurate project and client setup, including contract terms, billing schedules, rates, and master data maintenance.
  • Review and approve billing activities to ensure timely and accurate invoice generation in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • Partner with Finance Project Partners and project teams to resolve billing discrepancies, exceptions, and project accounting issues.
  • Drive achievement of billing, WIP, and working capital KPIs through effective prioritization and execution.
  • Monitor project financial activity and support timely project closure and financial hygiene initiatives.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex, high-risk, or business-critical project accounting matters.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Associates, Senior Associates, Specialists, and POD Leads to build team capability and performance.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities across the function.
  • Ensure adherence to ERM policies, internal controls, compliance standards, and governance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with global finance leaders and stakeholders to deliver consistent, scalable, and high-quality finance services.
