This Position reports to:

Sales Director- Maharashtra & Southeast Asia

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Sales organization and customers throughout the sales process by adapting ABB’s products and solutions to meet customer requirements and specifications. You will guide the selection of optimized products and technologies, prepare technical and commercial documentation, and act as a key technical resource for the assigned area. The role demands a mix of sales acumen, technical understanding, and customer engagement.

This role is contributing to the Machine Automation Division -B&R in Pune region in India. Main stakeholders are Sales, Customers, Engineering, Product Management, Technical Support, and Channel Partners.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Understand customer business needs, technical requirements, and operational challenges to recommend optimal B&R automation and machine control solutions.
• Support business growth through impactful product demonstrations, technical presentations, solution workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements that highlight the value of ABB Machine Automation (B&R) offerings.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor by providing specialized consultation on automation, machine connectivity, motion control, advanced technologies, and software solutions.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, application, and product management teams to develop technically viable solutions, proposals, and customer-focused strategies throughout the sales cycle.
• Deliver technical support and application guidance to customers while creating a positive experience that helps advance the use of innovative technologies.
• Conduct technical training and skills development programs for customers, channel partners, and system integrators to improve solution capabilities.
• Support business expansion across Maharashtra by identifying new opportunities, networking with key stakeholders, and enabling sales teams with technical skills and next-generation B&R automation solutions.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related field).
• 8–12 years of experience in industrial automation environments, with deep knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, Drives, Motion Control, Servo Systems, and Mechatronics solutions.
• Practical experience in machine study, automation application development, and designing automation architectures to meet customer and industry requirements.
• Experience in servo sizing, motor sizing, digital simulation, and developing optimized motion control solutions.
• Industry experience in Printing, Packaging, Plastics, Pharma, and Life Sciences sectors, with a solid understanding of machine functionalities and automation solutions.
• Experience in Business Development and/or Application Engineering, with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical business solutions and support growth initiatives.
• Strong communication, customer engagement, and relationship management skills, with willingness to travel; fluency in English is required, and knowledge of an additional regional language is an advantage.
