KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

These roles will be pivotal in shaping and expanding our fish health unit, offering significant opportunities for business development, customer relations, and strategic growth. The candidate will also play a key role in facilitating knowledge transfer between Norway, Scotland and Iceland, fostering collaboration and establishing best practices for fish health management.

• Operational tasks will also include:

• Monitoring fish health at various aquaculture sites, including hatcheries, smolt facilities and fish farms.

• Overseeing delousing operations, vaccination, hygiene inspections, and other fish health-related tasks.

• Facilitating the development and production of biosecurity and fish health management strategies and plans.

• Investigation of specific fish health related incidents (e.g. an outbreak of disease), and subsequent reporting.

• Veterinary or Aqua Medicine Biologist degree
• Service-oriented with professional integrity
• Enjoys fieldwork and being at sea
• Thrives in a varied and challenging work environment
• Independent, structured, and passionate about their work
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• 3-5 years’ experience in a related role, e.g. as a fish vet or fish health biologist
• Sound understanding of the various regulatory regimes applicable to finfish aquaculture in Iceland
