Role

As an Engineering Manager II, you will lead a team of software engineers to create, maintain, and enhance our applications. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team of engineers and working collaboratively with designers, product managers, and other stakeholders.

Description

This position requires someone with a passion for web development and people management. As a manager on our team, you are responsible for driving toward sound implementation and timely delivery. You are good at managing development projects that span multiple functional teams with demanding deadlines. You can overcome technical challenges daily. In addition to crafting efficient designs, you recognize the importance of architectural design and iterative feedback. In this role, you will:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, supporting career growth and creating a strong culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
Recruit and grow world-class engineering talent, ensuring the team has the right skills and capabilities to deliver impactful products.
Own the engineering roadmap in collaboration with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders, translating product priorities into clear technical execution plans.
Oversee the development of new features and improvements across our Super App, while rolling up your sleeves and contributing hands-on when needed.
Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure high standards of code quality, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Drive technical design and architecture discussions, facilitating whiteboard sessions and ensuring end-to-end integration, scalability, and user impact are considered from the start.
Conduct regular 1:1s and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to help team members grow and succeed.
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in mobile and software development, engineering, and testing.

Key Qualifications

6+ years of experience in web development or a related field
Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of web developers
Strong proficiency in modern web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
Experience with server-side programming languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby
Experience with web application frameworks such as Express.js, Django, or Laravel
Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL
Experience with version control systems such as Git
Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS or Google Cloud
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices, including Agile methodologies
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Passion for building high-quality, scalable web applications
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
