- Auckland, New Zealand
- NZD 130,000 – NZD 170,000
This is a significant site leadership role with overall responsibility for the people, care, operations and commercial performance of Lady Allum. You’ll have oversight of approximately 110-bed care centre alongside an independent living village of approximately 90 residences, leading a diverse team and supporting a large community of residents and their families.
You’ll lead the site with a strong focus on creating an environment where residents receive high-quality, person-centred care and services, our people feel supported to do their best work, and the village operates safely, sustainably and successfully.
As General Manager, you’ll set the direction for the site and be a visible and approachable leader for residents, families and your team. You’ll balance the day-to-day operation of a large and complex village with longer-term planning, performance and continuous improvement, taking ownership of everything from team capability and resident experience through to occupancy, budgets and compliance.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading, developing and supporting your team to perform at their best
- Creating a warm, resident-first culture where people feel valued, connected and safe
- Overseeing the clinical, operational and financial performance of the village
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality care aligned with best practice and Oceania’s model of care
- Building trusted relationships with residents, families, team members and the wider community
- Driving sustainable occupancy and strong overall village performance
- Identifying opportunities to improve how we work and the experience we provide
- Working closely with your Clinical Manager and regional leadership team to maintain high standards of care and compliance
What we’re looking for
You’re an experienced and confident leader who enjoys being visible, connected and involved in the day-to-day life of a site. You know how to bring people together around a clear direction, hold high standards and balance the needs of residents and your team with the commercial realities of running a successful business.
You’ll bring:
- At least three years’ experience in health and/or business management
- At least three years’ people leadership experience, ideally within a culturally diverse environment
- Proven experience leading teams within healthcare, hospitality or another complex service-based environment
- Strong commercial and financial capability, with the ability to understand performance and turn insights into action
- Confidence managing operational performance, budgets, occupancy and compliance
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- The ability to make sound decisions that balance resident wellbeing, quality, compliance and financial sustainability
- A visible, supportive leadership style with the confidence to set clear expectations and hold people accountable
- A calm, optimistic and solutions-focused approach
