Job Description

We are seeking Lecturers who demonstrate strong research potential, as well as a commitment to excellent research-informed teaching that is enhanced by appropriate learning technologies. Continuation (tenure) is based on performance in research, teaching, and service.

In addition to growing your academic profile and reputation, you will also be committed to shaping and delivering an exceptional learning experience for students, contributing to an innovative teaching environment using a variety of methods.

We invite applications from candidates in any field but are particularly interested in applicants whose work explores areas including Econometrics (Theoretical and Applied) and International Trade.

He kōrero mōu | About you

The successful appointee will have a PhD (or be near completion), with demonstrated excellence in research and a commitment to high quality research-informed teaching.

You will have a research program that complements and builds upon existing areas of strength within the Department.

You will be a highly effective teacher of both undergraduate and graduate students. The appointee will be expected to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in their specialist area, at introductory levels more widely, and to engage in research and publication both personally and through the supervision of research students.

You will also be expected to seek research funding, to engage with the profession and academic and non-academic stakeholders, and to contribute to departmental service. Flexibility in teaching and research collaboration within and beyond the Department are essential.

This is a full time, 40 hours per week, permanent employment contract. The salary ranges are (per annum salary depending on experience and qualifications):

The full remuneration range is:

• Lecture step 1: $99,788 – Lecture step 7: $119,204, depending on qualifications and experience
• Senior Lecturer - $126,800 - $158,900 NZD, depending on qualifications and experience
