The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health & climate change, and non-communicable diseases & mental health.

This is a grant funded contractual position.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

• coordinate with District Health Management Teams, EPI, surveillance units and other stakeholders for effective implementation of assigned project activities
• support implementation of EPI-Polio activities, including micro-planning, EPI centre operations, surveillance strengthening and related health-system interventions
• contribute to workplans, monitoring and evaluation activities, technical reports and periodic progress updates
• conduct field monitoring, facility visits, data collection and structured observations in line with approved project tools and protocols
• review, verify and support the quality of programme data from systems such as DHIS2, EMR, SEIR and other relevant platforms
• monitor assigned activities against approved workplans and milestone requirements and identify implementation gaps and risks
• support capacity-building activities, including training, mentoring and development/use of supervisory tools
• participate in district EPI reviews, surveillance meetings and other relevant technical coordination forums and represent the project as required
• coordinate with health facilities, laboratories, surveillance focal persons and Rapid Response Teams to support timely reporting, investigation and follow-up of priority health events
• review surveillance data for completeness, timeliness and quality and support corrective actions where required
• develop field monitoring plans, document observations and share findings with relevant government and project teams
• maintain accurate project records and documentation and support preparation of reports, meeting minutes and other project deliverables
• undertake any other related responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

You should have:

• Master’s degree, preferably MSPH, in Public Health, Epidemiology or a related discipline
• more than five years of relevant professional experience, preferably in EPI, Polio, public health or health projects
• strong technical understanding of immunization, Polio-EPI and/or disease surveillance programmes
• experience working with government health programmes and district-level stakeholders
• experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and research activities
• familiarity with health information systems such as DHIS2, EMR, SEIR or similar platforms will be an advantage
• strong analytical, report-writing and presentation skills
• good coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills
• ability to work independently in field settings and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• ability to engage effectively with government and non-government stakeholders at district level.
