PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Our customer is a world-leading provider of transport solutions, driving the shift towards a sustainable transport system and creating a world of mobility that is better for business, society, and the environment. The product-related services we work on help end customers streamline their transport operations. You will join a collaborative, customer-focused environment and contribute to the quality of digital services used to process and present vehicle-related data.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:

• Own the testing approach for new vehicle signals and related data flows, from test analysis and planning through execution and reporting.
• Design, execute, and maintain technical test scenarios covering data quality, data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and edge cases.
• Validate how vehicle signals are ingested, processed, stored, and presented in reports and applications.
• Support the quality assurance of the reports, with a focus on vehicle emissions data and associated business rules.
• Investigate data quality issues using analytical techniques, queries, logs, and monitoring information, and work with developers to identify root causes.
• Perform manual and automated testing across relevant services, APIs, and data layers.
• Test applications running in cloud environments and support quality checks across development, test, and production-like environments.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product stakeholders, and other QA specialists to define acceptance criteria, risks, and appropriate test coverage.
• Communicate test results, defects, and quality risks clearly, and take ownership of follow-up until resolution.

TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a QA Engineer, Test Engineer, or similar technical testing role.
• Hands-on experience with different types of Testing.
• Experience defining test strategies, test plans, acceptance criteria, and traceable test evidence.
• Strong experience testing backend services, APIs, integrations, or data-intensive applications.
• Practical experience validating data quality, including completeness, accuracy, consistency, and exception scenarios (checking data coming from streams and APIs).
• Hands-on experience retrieving and analyzing data from databases (preferably non-SQL).
• Hands-on experience with test automation (frontend and backend), with the ability to extend existing automation frameworks and/or establish new frameworks from the ground up.
• Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Java, TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of AWS and experience testing cloud-hosted applications, including investigating logs, querying databases, monitoring and observability (CloudWatch, DynamoDB).
• Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures.
• Experience handling customer support cases.
• A deliberate and pragmatic approach to using AI tools. Ability to provide effective context, guide AI through large or unfamiliar codebases, and critically evaluate the quality and reliability of AI-generated output.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience in automotive, connected vehicles, telematics, or mobility-related products.
• Exposure to streaming technology or other high-volume time-series data.
• Cloud certification or relevant training in data testing or data quality engineering.
• Awareness of DevOps and Agile principles and a shift-left approach to quality.
• Relevant university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data, or a related field.
