Agricultural Supervisor – Date Palm Operations

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Supervisor – Date Palm Operations with hands-on expertise in date palm cultivation to manage daily plantation operations in Riyadh.

The role will oversee palm care, irrigation and fertigation, seasonal cultivation activities, pest and disease management, harvesting, and farm workforce supervision. The successful candidate should be comfortable working directly in the field and managing day-to-day agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across the date palm plantation.
• Monitor palm growth, health, soil conditions, and plantation performance.
• Plan and supervise seasonal activities including pruning, pollination, thinning, fertilization, and harvesting.
• Monitor and coordinate irrigation and fertigation schedules.
• Identify and address pest, disease, and other palm health issues.
• Monitor fruit development, quality, and harvesting readiness.
• Lead and supervise farm workers, including task allocation and daily work planning.
• Ensure proper cleaning, pruning, thinning, and maintenance of palm trees.
• Maintain records related to irrigation, fertilization, treatments, production, and farm activities.
• Ensure agricultural tools, machinery, and equipment are used and maintained properly.
• Implement required agricultural, safety, and quality practices.
• Coordinate with farm management on plantation performance, production, and quality targets.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in date palm farming or plantation operations.
• Strong practical knowledge of date palm cultivation and seasonal farming practices.
• Hands-on experience with irrigation, fertigation, fertilization, pruning, pollination, and harvesting.
• Knowledge of pest and disease identification and control.
• Proven experience supervising agricultural workers and field activities.
• Familiarity with date palm varieties, fruit development, and harvesting practices.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred.
• English required; Arabic is an advantage.
