Job Description
What You'll Do: ODH is seeking to fill an Administrative Professional 1 position within the Bureau of Infectious Diseases - Immunization Program. This position will provide routine administrative support, make recommendations regarding program activities and assist in developing new procedures related to established program policy. This position will:
- Provide coverage of BID’s main telephone lines (e.g., answers, screens and transfers inbound routine calls and emails regarding program information) and refer more complex calls (e.g., data requests) to supervisor or other appropriate authority
- Prepare, sort, route and distribute mail
- Maintain filing system
- Research requests for information and data
- Use Microsoft Office and/or other applications (e.g., Administrative Document Tracking System, Workflow Integrated System Enterprise) to produce (i.e., transcribe, format, type, and/or proofread) copies of various documents from rough written draft or dictation (e.g., manuals, publications, pamphlets/brochures, directories, forms, tables, meeting minutes, or other material of technical or confidential nature)
- Independently provide explanation of activities of the Immunization Program functions to internal and external customers, compile data, prepare reports and gather statistics
- Track numerical reports of vaccine usage and inventory reports from public clinics (e.g., follow up on missing or late reports from clinics, collect all reports and enter into database)
- Operate and monitor electronic fax and email accounts
- Input data (e.g., data submissions) into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets as submissions are received and processed Why Work for the State of Ohio

Qualifications
1 yr. trg. or 1 yr. exp. in secretarial science or business office applications. For positions requiring technical terminology, applicants must also have 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in relevant technical terminology.

ALL ANSWERS TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUPPORTED BY THE WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PROVIDED ON YOUR CIVIL SERVICE APPLICATION. Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 27, Step 1 of the union (OCSEA) Pay Range Schedule ($22.59 per hour), with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($23.28 per hour) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
