What You'll Do

• Process and submit clean insurance claims to Medicare, MVA, Workers' Compensation, and other payers with accuracy and compliance.
• Own the follow-up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims — digging into root causes, filing timely appeals, and getting outstanding balances resolved.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits upfront to keep billing accurate from the start.
• Keep aging reports moving by prioritizing follow-up based on claim age, payer responsiveness, and filing deadlines.
• Navigate payer portals and claims systems like a pro to track status and drive payment resolution.
• Build strong working relationships with insurance reps, providers, and internal teams to keep claims moving smoothly.
• Stay ahead of the curve on billing regulations, payer guidelines, and coding updates.

What You Bring

• High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing, or related field a plus.
• 2+ years of medical billing experience, ideally with hands-on work in Medicare, MVA, and Workers' Comp claims.
• Solid grasp of medical terminology and coding systems (CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS).
• Comfort working in medical billing software, EHR systems, and payer portals.
• Sharp analytical skills and an eye for detail when reviewing claims and resolving denials.
• Strong communicator who can work independently and juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• CMBS certification (or equivalent) is a nice-to-have.

📌 Candidates should be based in Washington or Oregon and able to travel to the Tigard location one day every three weeks.

This is a Contract position based out of Tigard, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
