Process Engineer MOCVD

We are looking for a Process Engineer - MOCVD to join our growing team and play a key role in the development and optimization of advanced III-V semiconductor laser structures.

In this position, you will work at the intersection of R&D and manufacturing, helping to drive process excellence for cutting-edge photonic devices. You will collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, and production teams to optimize epitaxial growth processes, analyze material performance, and support the introduction of new technologies into manufacturing.

What You'll Do

As a Process Engineer within our MOCVD team, you will:

• Plan and prepare the epitaxial growth of GaAs- and InP-based laser diode structures.
• Coordinate semiconductor material characterization activities and analyze results to support both product development and manufacturing.
• Drive continuous improvements in process performance, yield, product quality, and operational efficiency.
• Support the implementation, qualification, and optimization of new equipment, software tools, and manufacturing solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and R&D teams to develop innovative MOCVD processes for next-generation photonics products.
• Participate in root cause investigations and process troubleshooting activities.
• Provide periodic on-call support as part of the team.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with MOCVD systems used for the fabrication of III-V semiconductor materials.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data collection, processing, and analysis.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with semiconductor lasers, including their physics, manufacturing processes, and applications.
• Knowledge of laser physics, vacuum technology, and characterization techniques for III-V semiconductor materials.
• Programming experience in Python, LabVIEW, SQL, or similar tools.
• Strong communication skills in both German and English.
