Role Summary
The Logistics Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of day-to-day logistics activities, including shipment coordination, logistics documentation, SAP transactions, inventory support and delivery tracking. The role works closely with internal teams and external service providers to ensure that goods and documents move efficiently, accurately and in compliance with company procedures and applicable requirements.
The role requires strong process discipline, attention to detail and ownership of logistics transactions from initiation through completion. The Logistics Officer is also expected to maintain audit-ready records, resolve operational exceptions promptly and contribute to continuous improvement across logistics processes.
Role Responsibilities
Documentation & Shipment Coordination
Prepare, review and process shipping, dispatch and logistics documentation accurately and within required timelines.
Check that dispatch documentation is complete, consistent and compliant before release.
Coordinate the preparation and dispatch of documents to customers, banks and other relevant stakeholders.
SAP Transactions & Logistics Execution
Process goods receipt (GR), goods issue (GI) and related logistics transactions accurately in SAP.
Ensure that physical logistics movements are recorded in the system completely and on time.
Investigate transaction errors, incomplete postings and system exceptions and coordinate their resolution.
Inventory Control & Reconciliation
Support inventory monitoring, periodic stock counts and reconciliation activities.
Identify inventory discrepancies and support investigation and corrective action.
Delivery & Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with suppliers, customers, transporters, warehouses and internal teams to support timely deliveries.
Track shipment and delivery status and provide accurate operational updates to relevant stakeholders.
Compliance, Controls & Record Management
Maintain complete and orderly electronic and physical logistics records to support audit readiness.
Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, approval requirements and applicable regulatory obligations.
Protect confidential business, customer and supplier information.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Prepare routine logistics reports, trackers and operational updates accurately and on time.
Assist in identifying process improvements and resolving operational issues
Operational Support
- Work collaboratively with the wider Supply Chain team to achieve service and operational priorities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Technical Requirements
Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
One to two years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, warehousing or a related operational environment.
Practical knowledge of shipment coordination, logistics documentation and inventory processes.
Hands-on SAP experience, including goods receipt and goods issue transactions, is advantageous.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
