About the organisation:

He Waka Tapu is a Kaupapa Māori organisation who have been supporting individuals and the community for over 30 years, working to increase the health and wellbeing of Whānau.

About the role:

As our Events Kaimahi, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating and delivering high-quality internal and external events that strengthen engagement with whānau, kaimahi and the wider community.

You will also support He Waka Tapu’s funding activity, including identifying relevant funding opportunities, preparing and coordinating grant applications for events and other organisational priorities, and supporting funding reporting and relationship management.

Working closely with the Marketing and Communications team and other kaimahi across the organisation, you will help ensure our events are delivered to a high standard of manaakitanga and that funding opportunities are effectively leveraged to support He Waka Tapu’s kaupapa and strategic priorities.

This is a varied role that brings together event coordination, relationship management, fundraising and grant funding, requiring someone who is highly organised, proactive, confident in communication and able to manage multiple priorities.

Skills and experience

You should be confident and energetic with a warm and engaging personality. We want someone who is self-motivated, well-presented and passionate about providing the best possible service to our people. You will have amazing communication skills, be proficient in the use of technology and have excellent time management and organisational skills. This role must have a full New Zealand Drivers Licence.
