Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

• ensure proper identification and registration of patients as per study protocol
• supervise and monitor timely visits of participants’ for follow ups
• monitor and report protocol deviations
• develop SoPs and manual of operation for study activities
• provide training to the study staff as per the protocols and guidelines of study
• perform comprehensive Pre-MRI scan Sedation examinations to establish medical history, current health, and sedation risk factors
• ensure the completeness, proper filings, and archiving of the data
• develop and implement QA QC plan with documentation and reporting
• assist in the sedation, and monitoring during and after MRI procedures
• proficient in airway control and ready to address breathing or oxygenation concerns
• prepare and compile of study progress report
• collaborate with the Data Manager, prepare monthly project reports
• present the study results as per the requirement
• develop high quality research proposals for funding agency; conduct research and actively contribute in publications

Requirement

You should have:

• MBBS degree, preferably with MCPS or any other additional qualification or any other relevant degree or;
• A Master of Science in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Statistics, Public Health, Health Policy and Management, Economics
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting
• Excellent knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis techniques
• Certification in Basic Life Support, PALS will be preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
• Proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office and other relevant software packages for data entry and analysis
• Ability to effectively work independently as well as in teams and establish harmonious working relations at the workplace
• Proficiency in medical record documentation
• Qualified in IV Sedation will be preferred
