The Position

Are you passionate about advancing healthcare technology and leading technical breakthroughs in the in-vitro diagnostics? As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Roche Diagnostics, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of diagnostic instruments within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. You will drive end-to-end technical solutions from early concept to final approval, directly impacting patient care worldwide.

The Opportunity

  • Drive independent concept development, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering for diagnostic instrument automation, balancing cost, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Define unit specifications, electronic architecture, and technical designs while reviewing engineering implementations to ensure robust interface definitions.
  • Lead technical reviews with cross-functional stakeholders across R&D, Operations, and Customer Support, stepping up to manage mission-critical challenges.
  • Define and continuously refine electronic development processes, templates, and best practices to ensure fully compliant medical products.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for external partners while fostering cross-departmental collaboration to build an engaging, high-performing team environment.

Who you are

  • You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering
  • You bring proven, long-term experience in developing complex electronic architectures and automated hardware systems, ideally within the medical device industry or another highly regulated environment.
  • You have hands-on expertise with international Safety and EMC compliance standards
  • You possess strong system-thinking capabilities, with demonstrated experience translating high-level requirements into reliable design specifications.
  • You are a proactive collaborator and communicator who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and driving continuous process improvements.
