About The Role

• You are expected to provide technical solutions for complex research assignments using existing and new technologies, methods, etc.
• Actively drive the technical development and knowledge gain for BASF on respective research fields.

How You Will Do It

• Develop binder and additive solutions for battery application, including lithium-ion, sodium ion, and solid-state batteries.
• Develop further technical solutions using existing and new technologies, methods etc.
• Take ownership of projects and drive progress with R&D colleagues, business units and collaboration parties. Present project ideas and conclusions at review meetings.
• Closely follow and evaluate scientific publications and patents to identify plausible solutions and new methods.

What We Look For

• PhD in polymer chemistry, polymer physics and/or electrical chemistry. Experienced with battery chemistry
• Have good knowledge of cell structure, material and manufacturing processes
• Background with Solid-State Battery is a plus
• Fluent in English and Chinese

Note: Working location will be mainly in 巴斯夫-长三角物理研究中心新能源汽车及储能联合研究中心 at Liyang, Jiangsu Province (90%) and Shanghai (10%).
