The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognised regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health & climate change, and non-communicable diseases & mental health.

About the Project
Aga Khan University is implementing AFGHS - AKU, a 12-month integrated health systems project focused primarily on Sindh, with coordinated linkages at the federal level, to strengthen health security, immunisation and disease control systems in Pakistan. The project works across tuberculosis, polio, routine immunisation and Global Health Security, including integrated human, animal and environmental health approaches. It aims to strengthen government systems, health information and surveillance, laboratory and supply systems, outbreak preparedness, and sustainable, country-led health systems.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
• provide technical and managerial oversight of health information systems and analytics activities across assigned project components
• coordinate with Government MIS teams, EPI Sindh, PEOC, district health structures and relevant federal and provincial stakeholders to strengthen timely and quality reporting
• review, analyse and interpret programme data from relevant health information systems, including EPI/SEIR, DHIS, TB and EMR platforms
• support planning, coordination, monitoring, data reviews, presentations and progress reporting
• consolidate and quality-assure programme data and support quarterly, annual and milestone-related reporting
• explore and support interoperability between health information systems, including EMR and DHIS-2, where applicable
• supervise, mentor and guide technical and data teams to ensure quality, timely and accountable delivery of outputs
• identify data quality issues, implementation bottlenecks and risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions
• ensure alignment with approved workplans, milestone requirements, donor requirements and AKU policies and procedures
• support evidence-based decision-making through dashboards, data analysis, presentations and other analytical products
• support documentation, system handover and close-out activities, including transition towards government ownership where applicable.

Requirements
You should have:
• a Master’s degree in Computer Sciences, Data Systems, Data Science, Information Systems, Public Health Informatics or a related discipline from an HEC recognised or reputable foreign university/institution
• at least seven years of relevant professional experience in health information systems, data systems or analytics. Experience working with government health departments, EPI programmes, PEOCs or other public health stakeholders will be an advantage
• demonstrated experience working with government health information systems, preferably including EPI/Polio, SEIR, DHIS, TB or EMR platforms. Experience working on donor-funded public health or health-systems strengthening programmes; USG-funded experience will be an advantage
• strong experience in health data management, analysis, reporting and presentation
• strong understanding of health information systems, data quality and programme monitoring
• experience in data integration/interoperability, including DHIS-2 and EMR systems, will be an advantage
• strong leadership, supervision, coordination and stakeholder management skills
• excellent analytical, communication, writing and presentation skills
• ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
