Job Purpose
This role ensures safe launches, adherence to customer requirements, program support, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and warranty performance by ensuring Dana processes are adhered too, customer requirements are met, APQP is followed and by driving continuous improvement in product reliability and manufacturing quality. The position provides leadership across the China region and plants and fosters a culture of quality through standardized processes and robust problem-solving methodologies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on APQP, PPAP, and safe launch processes for new programs.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure robust product and process validation.
- Attend Program & Stage Gate reviews where required. Support customer visits / audits
- Lead problem solving where required on test / program / launch issues
- Ensure successful approved PSW on assigned programs
- Support regional and plant quality teams to achieve scorecard metrics and KPIs.
- Mentor and develop Plant Quality Managers and team members.
- Monitor Regional QMS with focus on Voice of Customer (VOC), Voice of Process (VOP), and Voice of System (VOS). Compiling monthly report out.
- Ensure adherence to corporate standards and customer-specific requirements across all sites.
- Lead/Support resolution of customer concerns using structured problem-solving tools (A3, Red-X, 3L5W, 8D, etc.).
- Support escalation issues including but not restricted to warranty, 0’km.
- Drive lessons learned and read-across initiatives in region to prevent recurrence.
- Support plants where needed with customer visits / audits
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (or equivalent).
- 6+ years of experience in global quality management within automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of QMS, APQP tools, and customer quality requirements.
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills across multi-site and global operations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams and customers.
