Instrumentation Engineer

Purpose

• As Instrumentation Engineer, you are responsible for supporting the design and delivery of safe, reliable, and cost effective engineering solutions that meet project needs and align with the organization’s operational and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the engineering and design within the scope of the specifications and client requirements, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
• You are responsible for assisting in maintaining the Instrument Index, including interpreting Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and capturing instrumentation and control data in a structured format.
• You are responsible to support vendor document reviews and assist in incorporating vendor-supplied instrument data into the Instrument Index under guidance.
• You are responsible for assisting in ensuring consistency between P&IDs, Instrument Index, instrument data sheets, and basic diagrams (e.g., loop and termination diagrams), with supervision.
• You are responsible for contributing to the preparation and updating of deliverables such as instrument index, instrument data sheets, basic diagrams and to support specification and requisition documents.
• You are responsible for planning and completing activities and deliverables within the agreed time frame as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
• You ensure that your scope of work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You may be assigned as package engineer with technical responsibility for the design, procurement and manufacture of the package.
• You ensure that the applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the impact of change within and across project system boundaries.
• You coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties in accordance with contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, design, or related field from recognized university/college
