Sr. Technical Manager - Industrial Coatings

To strengthen our team in Shanghai , we are looking for you as a(n) Sr. Technical Manager-工业涂料.

Job Responsibilities:

• Closely communicate with key customers to understand technical requirements and ensure products are qualified on major customers in industry coating application.
• Provide expert guidance in developing and optimizing coating formulations based on silicone resin binders, fumed silica, silanes, defoamers, and wetting agents for application-specific performance requirements.
• Provide professional technical service and troubleshooting support to customers when technical difficulties arise.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key technical stakeholders and decision-makers, serving as a trusted advisor for industrial coating applications.
• Solve technical/quality complaints by working together with quality and production operation.
• Drive innovation projects in collaboration with Sales, Business Development, R&D, and global application teams to create differentiated solutions and generate customer value.
• Coordinate the transfer of technical documents from Wacker Global to local according to business needs.
• Promote the overall image of products and application knowledge by various valuable ways like conference, seminar, training, Wechat post, technical newsletter, or publication etc.
• Propose and implement application lab efficiency/capability improvement to fulfill daily operation. Ensure all EHSS requirements are fulfilled.
• Lead, coach, and develop the technical service team and strengthen technical competencies through collaboration with global technical experts.

Qualifications Required:

• Master's degree or above in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related major.
• Minimum 10 years of technical experience in the chemical or coatings industry, with proven expertise in industrial coatings formulation, product development and application technologies.
• Have practical formulation and product development experience in powder coatings and/or water-based coatings, preferably including heat-resistant coatings and other high-performance industrial coating applications.
• Strong technical knowledge of coating raw materials and formulation principles, including resin and binder technologies, fillers, silanes, defoamers, wetting agents, rheology modifiers, and other functional additives.
• Demonstrated capability in coating formulation design, optimization, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation for demanding industrial application.
• People management experience is preferred.
• Good communication skill, fluent in both oral and written English.
• A proactive learning mindset with intellectual curiosity and openness to new technologies and ideas.
• Positive thinking and customer/result oriented.
• Willingness to work in a laboratory environment and actively engage in hands-on experimental and product development activities.
